In 2026.....
A pop-up market at The Commons has launched and is steadily growing, with a wide range of fresh fruit, vegetables, and local produce available each week on Saturday.
Work is underway to expand the number of local growers involved, grow the volunteer team, and welcome more people into the market.
The project is also exploring simple ways to make fresh food more accessible, especially for those doing it tough.
Pop-up market at The Commons
Produce is sourced from local growers across the region, with extra items brought in to make sure there’s plenty of choice for shoppers.
The focus is on keeping food fresh, local, and affordable as a regular customer base builds.
We’re working towards filling the market with as much locally grown food as possible. Right now, about 44% of the produce at the market is grown locally and sustainably. Our goal is to reach 87.5% local produce with more produce coming from local farms, gardens, and our own growing spaces.
